Hello! This is the part of my website where I have to tell you a little about myself whether you are interested or not…so I hope you are ready!
My name is Kayla Motyka Bittle (you can call me Kay) and I have been a licensed Esthetician in the state of California for over 2 years. But this is not where my story started, I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and the beautiful state of California is just where life planted me.
As you might imagine, there was not a whole lot for an angsty teenager growing up in Northeast Ohio to do. So I turned to fashion magazines, YouTube, and numerous Sci-Fi movies, television shows, and video games. These were sources of inspiration for me, they made me fall in love with makeup and how it can transform someone into a bombshell beauty or even a fierce Klingon. I NEEDED to learn how to do what they were doing, my thirst for knowledge was (and is) never ending.
My desire for more education lead me to Esthetics school, after all, I was only a self-taught makeup enthusiast with a strong desire to be a pro. While there, I received valuable information on how the skin works and how to ensure proper sanitation between each and every client. Before, during, and after Esthetician school, I dabbled with offering makeup services but I never fully committed to it. It was not until the summer of 2016 that I finished putting my kit together, received more education on makeup application, and summoned my courage that I decided to finally pursue my passion and make Level Up Makeup my full focus.
When I am not busy with my wonderful clients, you can find me attending business school or sitting down to play some video games. I embrace my nerdiness, my life has always been a mix of me sitting in front of a mirror experimenting with makeup on myself or others, wandering through virtual adventures, and filling my brain with as much information as possible.
Today, I am proud to say that I am living my dream of being a self-employed freelance makeup artist. Currently I specialize in event and bridal makeup but the dreams don’t stop there… My goal is to one day break into the special effect realm and work on some ridiculously awesome and cheesy Sci-Fi movie or t.v. show. If you have stuck around this long, I thank you for reading and hope we can work together soon!
